"The lyrics to the song were written a few years ago when we could already see the creeping privatisation of the NHS. In light of recent events unfortunately the song had become even more poignant. We urge anyone that can to get involved in the ongoing Junior Dr's dispute, this could be one of the last protections we have for free health care for all."
lyrics
Dismantling protections
Constricting out the life
Building up the straw man while you run the well dry
Conflict of interest
Seek and ye shall find
An ever growing number with an axe to grind
Now the cycle starts again
To watch it burn ignite the flame
Straw men shoulder all the blame
While we're just Circling the Drain
Eating up the Meek
Thinning out the herd
Toe the party line and plunder on undeterred
Surprise assault, there's no defence
Collateral damage victims of circumstance
There's no chance
Now the cycle starts again
To watch it burn ignite the flame
Straw men shoulder all the blame

YEEEES!
YEEEES!
Twenty years later than I would have liked, but hells yes! I stumbled upon "No manners in Ireland" yesterday, cueing the easiest binge buy in a while. This is a nice blend of skillful instrumentalism, great lead voice and good tunes. The old Toasters / Madness / Bosstones fan in me is bouncing off the ceiling again. Thank you for that. You seem to be gathering steam as well. Here's to a long run! raphaelhythlodai
The Minneapolis band add a horn section, a running surrealist allegory about walls, and an occasional nod to the elegiac to their electroshocked post-punk. Bandcamp Album of the Day Mar 4, 2024
